Videxio Announces Full Interop with Microsoft Skype and Skype for Business on their Cloud Video Service

Oslo, Norway, 9th June, 2015 – Videxio, a leading cloud video service provider, today announced new features that extend the interoperability of their service and will especially benefit Microsoft Skype for Business users. The Skype for Business community represents the fastest growing group of users on the Videxio service. The new features will allow this group to enjoy two-way content sharing, as well as the ability to call from traditional Skype into Videxio hosted conferences. Through Videxio Labs, Videxio’s innovation incubator, Videxio has also enabled traditional Cisco and Polycom video systems hosted on the service to be able to place and receive calls directly from Microsoft Lync and Skype for Business.

“Enabling users to seamlessly join and collaborate in video meetings across various technologies and devices such as Skype for Business, standards-based videoconferencing systems, browser based video and audio has been the key to unlocking the accelerated growth we are realizing on the Videxio service,” commented Videxio CEO, Tom-Erik Lia.

The volume of Skype for Business users connecting with 3rd party video devices, browsers and voice participants in Videxio powered conferences has increased by a factor of 10 over the last year and now accounts for 27% of traffic. Videxio sees this significant growth as a clear validation of the importance of breaking down interoperability challenges. With full interoperability, Skype for Business users are able to communicate more effectively with contacts outside their own organization, allowing them to effectively leverage their existing investments and extend the lifetime of their chosen solutions. Crestron has a long track record anticipating and setting industry trends. This year is a pivotal year for our industry, and once again, we’re ahead of the curve. We have the new hardware, software, and programs you’ll need to thrive in the new IT age. You must visit our booth so you’re prepared for the future.

Nearly a decade ago we anticipated the Analog Sunset and introduced our ground-breaking solution: Crestron DigitalMedia™. Now that AV is digital, and more often going on the network, IT managers are taking responsibility for those systems. Today, DM® 3.0 is the new set of core, standard-setting technologies required for digital AV in the enterprise:

-Uncompressed bit-for-bit 4K/60 distribution and scaling
-Streaming AV – leverage the IT infrastructure to deliver content anywhere on the network
-Centralized enterprise-class monitoring and management
-End-to-end scalable solutions on a single, validated platform

Adhering to the DM 3.0 standard results in a Crestron Certified Design, the only single-platform, validated, and scalable solution that is completely managed and maintained on the network. Traditional multi-platform AV systems aren’t highly repeatable and scalable to hundreds or thousands of rooms across an organization. And without standardized implementation, a consistent user experience, and every device in every room connected to the managed network, you’re flying blind. Only Crestron Certified Designs provide full visibility to every AV device in every room.

Visit the Crestron booth #2801 to see all their latest enterprise-grade products and technologies that bring IT standards to AV systems.

May 29, 2015 By D. Craig MacCormack

InfoComm‘s annual industry show is quickly approaching, and the show has a couple new things in store for attendees who make the trek to Orlando on June 17-19.

One area that’s likely to get a lot of attention is the recently added Drone Pavilion, a section that will feature as many as a dozen manufacturers showing off their latest innovations in the world of unmanned flying objects.

The area came out of a series of conversations between InfoComm officials and Stampede CEO Kevin Kelly, whose company is sponsoring the pavilion along with Unmanned Vehicle University.
